Douglas Fleming
Douglas W. Fleming born on March 25, 1924in Avoca Wisconsin. He was the third child of Edwin and Edna (Geller) Fleming. His siblings were Darrell, Eleanor Herburger and Ed Jr. He made his home around the Bagley, Wisconsin area until a few years ago and has enjoyed living in Prairie du Chien since.
He passed away on November 1, 2011 at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Visitation will be at Martin Swartz Funeral Home in Bloomington Wisconsin, Saturday November 5, 201, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service and 11:30 a.m. and Interment at the Avoca Cemetery in Avoca, Wisconsin.
Doug loved his country and was proud to have served in World War II. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1943. He later transferred into the Field Artillery and served in the Aleutian Islands until 1946. Doug retired from the Wisconsin State Patrol after fourteen years. After his retirement Doug started his own business, Dry Hollow Rock and Gem.
He was also a Master Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was raised in the Bloomington Masonic Lodge.
He married Nancy Lou (McLean) on December 5, 1948and together they enjoyed many hobbies and interests such as hunting, fishing, trapping, bicycling, lapidary, cross country skiing, canoeing, and ice skating. When he would master one he would look for another. Doug was also a General Class licensed Ham Radio operator who talked with people all around the world.
Doug is survived by his wife Nancy, and their three children Doug Jr., (Sue) of Fennimore WI, Dana (Regina) of Ankeny IA, and Rhonda Zutz (Ken) of Longmont CO; grandchildren, Dawn Riley, Shelly Fleming, Zachary Fleming, Willie Zutz and Christopher Zutz. His great-grandchildren were a great joy in his life and he enjoyed every minute that he was able to spend with Leah, Peyton & Hannah Riley as well as little Skylar Fleming. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and a grandson, Gabriel Dana Fleming.

She was a homemaker and mother to 9 children. She loved to crochet , make quilts, and play card games, especially Euchre. She was also a Brewer and Packer fan. You could always find ice cream treats in the freezer, specifically drumsticks and push-ups. She was a master of cooking squirrel and telling stories. Eileen was quick-witted and possessed a great sense of humor. Eileen

John H. Flesch, age 62, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at his home in Lancaster. He was born on July 3, 1948, in Lancaster, the son of Joseph and Gladys (Hardy) Flesch. John attended St. Clement Catholic School and graduated from Lancaster High School. He furthered his education at University of Wisconsin at Platteville, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science. John served his country in the United States Navy for six years, stationed out of Norfolk, VA. He loved playing cards at Zippy
s, crossword puzzles and cryptograms. John had been employed at Wal-Mart in Platteville for many years.

Beany belonged to the Berg Averkamp VFW Post No. 5276 in s Catholic
Church, both in Platteville. Beany and Eileen had
a great life together. Family was most important.
Beany has been to more cross country meets, football,
volleyball games and tennis matches for his children and
grandchildren than one could count. He was often
with friends and family hunting mushrooms in the spring, fishing on
the river, growing huge potatoes, or pitching horse shoes.
He was a Green Bay Packer fan, loved to study the history of

Irene Flitsch
Irene L. Flitsch, age
94, formerly of Cassville, passed away Monday, December 8, 2014, at the
Lancaster Care Center, Lancaster. She was born March 26,
1920, in rural Cassville, the daughter of Albert and Maggie (Kirschbaum)
Hochhausen. On March 6, 1939, she was united in marriage to
Maynard Flitsch. Irene was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church in
Lancaster. Her days were filled with taking care of their
household. Irene loved to go shopping, playing cards, traveling and dancing
with Maynard. During their retirement years they loved to travel and winter
in the south.
Irene is survived by her three
children: Delbert (Julia) Flitsch, Gays Mills; Linda (Greg) Dunn, Las Vegas;
Kenneth (Beth) Flitsch, Necedah; two granddaughters: Karla (Ted) Krajewski,
Middleton; Angie Meyer, Fall River; 6 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great
grandchildren; sister, Margaret Laugesen, Dubuque, IA; brother, Julius
Hochhausen, Cassville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, her husband, Maynard in 2004, siblings: Leona (Louis) Miner and
John (Mary) Hochhausen.

was in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Family and

Lois Flynn
Lois J. Flynn, age 73, of Lancaster,
passed away suddenly on Friday, April 8, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in
Dubuque. She was born along with her twin Larry, on March
2, 1943, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Clarence and Helen (Crane)
Nugent. Lois graduated from Seneca High School in 1961.
On March 1, 1963, she was united in marriage to Laddie Flynn.
Three sons were born to this union: Randy, Jeff
and Brian. Lois was employed at Loud Speaker Component in
Lancaster for many years before finding her true calling as a CNA.
Lois had a passion for caring for others. She
provided private home care as well as worked at Orchard Manor Nursing Home
until her retirement this February. Lois enjoyed
traveling and sightseeing. She also loved spending time
with her family, friends, grandchildren and grand-dogs.
Survivors include her three sons:
Randy (Amy) Flynn, Lancaster; Jeff (Mary) Flynn, Stitzer; Brian (Nicole
McLean) Flynn, Lancaster; two grandchildren: Connor Flynn

Foster
Jack F. Foster, age 79, of Bloomington
formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at Grant
Regional Health Center, Lancaster. He was born on October 21, 1936, in
Lancaster, the son of Harley F. and Esther M. (Brandemuehl) Foster.
Jack attended Lancaster Schools. He entered the United States Army in
1956 and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1963. On
June 7, 1958, Jack was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Krueger at St.
John's Catholic Church in Patch Grove. Their wedding was the first
military wedding in the state of Wisconsin. She preceded him in death
on January 22, 1996. Jack was employed with the Grant County Highway
Department from 1962 until his retirement in 1998. On April 19, 2002,
he was united in marriage to Florence Oates in Bloomington. Jack was a
member of St. Clement Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He
enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, trap shooting, camping, going out to
eat, and playing cards. Jack dearly loved spending time with his
family.
Survivors include his wife, Florence of Bloomington;
his children: Phyllis (Larry) Fuerstenberg, Bloomington; Brenda (Mark)
Cullen, Lancaster; Cindy (Tom) Simpson, Lancaster; Bob (Darlene) Foster,

Phyllis M. French
Phyllis M. French, age 74, of Mount Hope, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. She was born on June 29, 1938, in Potosi, the daughter of Doris and Mary (Marcue) Hall. Phyllis graduated from Lancaster High School in 1957. On September 27, 1958, she was united in marriage to Dale French at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. After their marriage, Phyllis was employed at the feed mill. She was later employed at the Mount Hope Caf
and operated the caf
for several years. Phyllis was also employed with McGregor Loud Speaker and most recently, Wal-Mart, until her retirement four years ago. She loved her job and visiting with people. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and cooking and baking. She also enjoyed her flower gardens. Phyllis was a member of the United Methodist Church and was a PPRC chairperson. She was also a member of the West Grant Lioness and the Bagley Royal Neighbors.

Shelby Freymiller
Shelby D. Freymiller,
age 87, of Lancaster, died on Saturday, December 21, 2013, at
Orchard Manor Nursing Home. He was born on December 11, 1926,
in Marion Township, the son of Christof F. and Marie (Kasper)
Freymiller. After his father passed away when he was seven,
Shelby moved to his grandparent s farm in Liberty Ridge Township and
later moved to Lancaster. He graduated from Lancaster High
School in 1944. In 1946, Shelby was drafted into the United
States Air Corps, now known as the United States Air Force.He
traveled to Japan during his year of service. He was employed with
the United States Postal Service for over twenty-seven years.
Shelby was a longtime dedicated member of the Bethlehem E&R Church
in Lancaster. A lifelong baseball fanatic, he enjoyed watching
the Chicago Cubs and visited most Major League ball parks around the
country. Also an exceptionally gifted singer and guitar player
(among several other instruments), Shelby brought joy to countless
individuals by entertaining at numerous area nursing homes and care
centers for many years, both with partners and alone. He also
participated in league bowling and demonstrated a remarkable acuity
for crossword puzzles. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds.
Survivors include his son, Lyn
Freymiller; step-children: Tim (Donna) Fruit; Jill (George)
Marin; his dear friends, Virgil and Janet Berndt. Grandpa Shelby
will be also be dearly missed by Elisha Marin, Suzie Marin, Amanda
Fruit, and Andrea Fruit.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy,
and his siblings Norma Hufstedler, Keith, Eldeen Cunningham, and
Gilbert.

Friederick
Leo H. Friederick, age 71, of
Cassville, died on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at the William S. Middleton
Memorial VA Hospital in Madison. He was born on November
3, 1943, near La Motte, IA, the son of LeRoy and Mary (Bies) Friederick.
On April 16, 1966, Leo married Janet Kieler, of Kieler, WI.
Leo was an exceptional mechanic and a progressive businessman. Leo and Janet ran businesses in Dickeyville and Potosi for thirty-five years. His timing and intuition in business were always amazing. Leo served four years in the United Sates Air Force during Vietnam and earned an opportunity to represent the Air Force at the National Marksmanship Competition in Ohio. Leo was a terrific competitor. When challenged, he was difficult to defeat in cards, truck pulls, pool, checkers, shooting, and embellishing the truth. Leo enjoyed fishing, nature, hunting, traveling to Florida, and the Mississippi River. He was an excellent provider for his family. Leo was always proud of his children and his face lit up when his grandchildren visited. He was generous, had terrific wit and humor, and enjoyed having a beer with friends. His warm smile and large, strong hand shake will be missed. Leo was the President of the Lion

s embrace July 1, 2014. She was born on June 27, 1934, near Potosi, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harry Abing and Lillian Hufnagel. She married Joseph Friederick on January 8, 1955 who survives her. Mary excelled as a gardener, book reader, cook, seamstress, and story teller. Some of her many enjoyments included watching sunrises, entertaining for large groups, hearing children
s laughter,
and enjoying good humor. Mary enjoyed being a member of the Grant County Master
Gardeners, St. Clement School, Parish and choir, Lancaster Garden Club, Red
Hatters, and numerous card clubs. She served on the FmHA County Committee,
4-H Adult Leader Association and President of the Grant County Chapter of
Wisconsin Women for Agriculture. From 1960 until 2001, Mary was
instrumental in the family farming operations. s

The pride of her life were her five children, 13 grandchildren, and five
great grandchildren, who also survived her. They include David (Lidia) of East
Dundee, IL, Keith (Patty) of Lancaster, James (Sherry) of Huntington, WV, Bruce
(Sharon) of Lancaster and Andrea (Stuart) Dodds of Chaska, MN. She will be
missed dearly by her brothers and sisters, including Vincent (Marilyn) Abing of
Platteville, Rosalyn Hartung of Madison, Harriet Snyder of McHenry, IL, Carl
(Beth) Abing of Cassville, Karin (Steve) Peacock of Platteville, Al (Jan) Abing

am at ST. CLEMENT CATHOLIC CHURCH in Lancaster, WI, with Father John Sasse
officiating. A private family burial was at the St. Clement Cemetery,
Lancaster, following the fellowship luncheon being served in the church
basement. Visitation was from 3:00 - 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at the
ST. CLEMENT CATHOLIC CHURCH. Friends also called from 9:30 - 10:30 am Monday

Rosalie A. Friederick
Rosalie A. Friederick, age 49, of Lancaster, died on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at the Finley Hospital, Dubuque. She was born on December 17, 1959, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Edmund and Helen (Leibold) Droessler. Rosalie graduated from Lancaster High School and attended Southwest Tech in Fennimore. On May 12, 1984, she was united in marriage to Matthew Friederick at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. After their marriage, Rosalie was employed with M & I Bank as a secretary for 29 years, until her retirement in 2009.
Rosalie was an avid Cubs and Badgers fan and she loved to play games. She enjoyed being on the river and pontooning. Rosalie always had a great attitude and was the life of the party. She especially loved all her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Matthew Friederick, Lancaster; her sister, Beverly (Larry) Copus, Stilwell, KS; her brother, Mark (Julie) Droessler, Walford, IA; her mother-in-law, Pat Friederick, Potosi; six brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Judy (Dave) Irish, Neil Friederick (Trisha Mergen) and Russ (Arlene) Friederick, all of Potosi; Monica (Jon) Reiten, Balsam Lake, WI, Annette Jepperson, Potosi and Kirk (Jen) Friederick, Dubuque, IA; many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.

Potosi, died December 23, 2013, at Orchard Manor in Lancaster.
Anna was born on July 26, 1928, in Kieler, WI, the daughter
of Henry and Agatha (Kieler) Averkamp. Anna
married Kenneth Fritz on October 11, 1950.
Anna is survived by her five children, Don

Alice E. Fruit, 94, passed
away on November 8, 2013, at Crest View Nursing Home, New Lisbon,
WI. She was born on June 20, 1919, in Green Bay, WI, the
daughter of Edward and Mattie (Preston) Fleck. Alice was
united in marriage to Gordon C. Fruit on November 13, 1941, in
Waukesha. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2009.
Together they farmed for many years in Waukesha, Blanchardville,
Reedsburg, and Marshall, WI.
She is survived by five children:

Gerald L. "Jerry" Fruit, age 80, of
Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Atrium Post Acute
Care in Lancaster. He was born on November 17, 1936, in
Lancaster, the son of Harold and Esther (Belscamper) Fruit.
Jerry graduated from Lancaster High School in 1954.
He served his country in the United States Army Reserves for six
years. Jerry was employed with his father in Fruit's
Garage until his father's death. He continued to operate
the garage until 1989. Jerry also served as a part-time
county sheriff's deputy and was later employed with the Wisconsin National
Guard as a security guard. On September 26, 1992, he was
united in marriage to Bonnie (Knapp) Stanfley at the Little Brown Church in
Nashua, IA. Jerry retired in 1999 and the couple moved
back to Lancaster. He enjoyed fishing, gun collecting,
gardening and NASCAR. Jerry was a member of the Law
Enforcement Association and the Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Fruit, Lancaster;
his children: Tim (Donna) Fruit, Madison; Jill (George)
Marin, Alert Lea, MN; step-children: Vernon (Sandy)
Stanfley, Stoughton; Steven Stanfley, Lancaster; four grandchildren:

Gordon Charles Fruit, age 92, of New Lisbon, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston.
He was born on April 13, 1917 in Waukesha, WI, the son of Clyde and Lucy (Chapman) Fruit. Gordon was united in marriage to Alice E. Fleck on November 13, 1941. Together they farmed for many years in Waukesha, Blanchardville, Reedsburg and Marshall, WI.

Alice M. Frye
Alice Frye passed away
Monday, February 15, 2010, at the
Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. Alice Marquerite
Grunenwald was born on March 8, 1915, in Livingston, WI, and
graduated from
Livingston High School. Her first job was as office girl at
the Grant County Farm and Asylum, where she met her husband,
Frederick Lickel. They married in 1942and farmed south of Lancaster
until his death in 1951. Alice married Earl Frye in 1960,who passed
away later that year. Alice worked for the federal
Agricultural
Stabilization and Conservation Service for 28years. She was
a member of Rebekah Lodge for 30 years, holding many offices
including Grand Noble. Sheserved on the Grant Regional Hospital
Auxiliary and United Methodist Women s Ruth Circle. Alice was
also a power walker in retirement and easily kept up with friends
half her age.
In addition to her husbands, she is preceded in death by her brother, Harold Grunenwald and sister, Mildred Wepking.
She is survived by her sister, Marian Griswold, sons: Frederick (Pam) Lickel, Jr. of Madison, and Stanley Lickel of Lancaster, daughter Lois (Bill) Sherwin of Albany, fourgranddaughters and two great-grandchildren.

Clara M. Fuerstenberg
Clara M.
Fuerstenberg, age 95 passed away on Thursday, March 10,
2011 with her children at her side at St. Mary s Care Center in
Madison. She was born September 13, 1915 in Potosi, the
daughter of Charles and Mary (Gladding) Cogan. Clara graduated
from Visitation High School, Dubuque, IA
in 1933. She married Clarence O. Fuerstenberg on April 26,
1937 at St. Thomas Catholic Church
in Potosi.
Clara was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster and Court of St. Rita No. 670 Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed quilting with the parish ladies. Mom loved God, Clarence, family and music. While Dad was out fishing, Clara was off quilting, singing, playing the accordion, piano or organ. When Clarence came home from his day of fishing, they went out dancing, together again forever. We love you both and will miss you dearly.
She is survived by her son Robert (Susanna) Fuerstenberg, Madison and their children Gary (Kelli), Denis (Jenny) and Jill. Five daughters; Judy Fuerstenberg, McLean, VA; Mary Jane Link, Madison and her children Jim (Kathy Finucane) Link and Myda Honaker; Margaret (Ronald) Diehl, Sauk City and their children, Amy Progar, and Kevin; Faye (James) Morse, Mount Horeb and their sons Michael and Jonathan ; and Beth (Albert) Stenner, Madison and their son Kristofer. Her great-grandchildren Collin, Luke, John, Kathryn, Matthew, Morgan, Daniel (Brandie), David and Joshua (Heather). Two great-great grandchildren, Mason and Sophia. Clara is further survived by her sister Bernadine Leibfried, Hazel Green, and her family, and sister-in-law Bertha Goebel, Dubuque, and many Fuerstenberg nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence on November 20, 1998, and her brothers, Leo (Bernice) and Charlie Cogan, and infant granddaughter, Melissa Morse.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster, with Fr. William Seipp officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Friends called on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster, where a 12:45pm parish rosary was held. Friends also called on Monday from 10:00 am until time of services at the funeral home.

Evelyn Fuerstenberg
Evelyn Mae Fuerstenberg, age 85, of
Lancaster, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015, at Grant Regional
Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on August
21, 1929, in Wauwatosa, the daughter of Ernest J. and Jeanette M. (Ellis)
Brindley. On December 28, 1948, Evelyn was united in
marriage to Lawrence Fuerstenberg in Fennimore. After
their marriage, Evelyn raised their family. She enjoyed
knitting, baking, and square dancing. She dearly loved
babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time with
her family. Evelyn was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and the
Catholic Daughters.
Survivors include her children: Mary
Lou (Dick) Zielinski; Michael (Aidee) Fuerstenberg; Betty (Keith) Edge;
Larry (Phyllis) Fuerstenberg; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren;

Anita Funk
Anita E. Funk, age 95, of Lancaster,
passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016, at Atrium Post Acute Care in
Lancaster. She was born on October 13, 1921, in Tipler, the daughter
of Otto and Jennie (Anderson) Daumitz. Anita taught both in the public
and parochial systems and became the first lay teacher at St. Clement School
where she taught for thirteen years. Anita married Harold Funk and
together they farmed for seven years. She also served as a bookkeeper
for the family business, Funk Transport. Anita was a lifelong member
of St. Clement Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women. She
loved to travel and solve puzzles and served as a volunteer at the Lancaster
Meal Site.
Survivors include one son, James (Ellen) Funk,
Lancaster; two daughters, Carol (Joe) Chulew, Fitchburg; Cheryl Funk,
Plymouth, MN; five grandchildren: Michele Krupa, Christopher, Paul, Daniel
and Jennifer Carl; twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great
grandchildren; a brother, Redman Daumitz, Rockford, IL.
In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death
by her husband, Harold; two brothers: Chester and Richard Daumitz; one
sister, Norma.

Donald
Funk
Donald Edward Funk, age 98,
of Lancaster, WI passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 6, 2016, at
his son s home in Appleton, WI.
He was born on December 26, 1917, the first
son born to Edward and Amelia (Kilburg) Funk. Donald graduated
from Lancaster High School in 1936. He married Hazel I. Moore on
September 17, 1940, in Lancaster. Donald proudly enlisted to serve
his country during WW II from July of 1944, joining the 330th
Infantry 83rd Division, until 1946. He earned both the
Bronze Star and Purple Heart Medals for his heroic service in the Battle
of the Bulge in Bastogne and crossing of the Rhine River. Upon his
return from the war, Donald worked with his father, Edward and his
brother, Milton at Funk s Motors. He was elected fire chief of the
Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department in March of 1962, stepping down in
1965. Donald later was employed as the head bookkeeper for fifteen years
and a bus driver for twenty years for the Lancaster Community School
District, retiring in 1982. For many years, he and Hazel enjoyed
golfing and wintering in Florida. Donald and Hazel enjoyed their
membership at the Lancaster Country Club for many years, where he won
numerous club championships. His loving wife, Hazel passed away in
1990. On August 22, 1992, Donald was united into marriage to
Ivanelle W. Ruetten. He was a member of the William Pollock VFW
Post #2344, Richard Burns American Legion Post #109, and the Christ
Lutheran Church in Lancaster.
Donald is survived by his loving family:
daughters, Judy (Jerry) Wehrle and Carole (Dennis) Peterson and son Dave
(Ann) Funk. Grandchildren: Crystal (Mark) Weber, Misty (Shane)
Crowley, Elizabeth and Christopher Funk. Donald was blessed with 4
great-grandchildren: Joshua and Sydney Weber and Taron and Trasen
Crowley. Donald is also survived by a sister-in-law, Nola Funk, and many
members of the Schaefer Family.

Hazel in 1990 and his wife Ivanelle in 2014, a sister Genevieve (Cyril)
Schaefer and brother Milton Funk.

J. Funk
Harold J. Funk, age 84, of Lancaster, died Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on February 26, 1924, in Potosi, the son of Michael and Elizabeth (Krepfle) Funk. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was a lifelong member of the William Pollock VFW Post No. 2344 of Lancaster. Harold married Anita Daumitz and together they farmed for seven years. He later purchased Rollo Knapp
s trucking company and operated his own business for thirty-five years. Harold served as a member of the Lancaster City Council and the Lancaster Housing Authority for many years. Harold was a lifelong member of St. Clement Catholic Church and the Catholic Knights. He delivered meals to the sick and the elderly. Harold was an avid euchre player and a great football fan.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Funk, Lancaster; one son, James (Ellen) Funk, Lancaster; two daughters, Carol (Joe) Chulew, Springfield, VA; Cheryl Funk, Plymouth, MN; five grandchildren: Michele Krupa, Christopher, Paul, Daniel and Jennifer Carl; and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his
sister, Marie Lenz.

Ivanelle Funk
Ivanelle Winifred Funk, 89, of
Lancaster, WI, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 31, 2014.
She was born June 28, 1924 in Stitzer, WI to
Arthur and Winifred (Cook) Stich.
Ivanelle grew up in the Stitzer area where she
attended Rock School, and Livingston High School, class of 1941.
After high school Ivanelle attended college at the University of WI,
Platteville, where she received a degree in teaching. Her first
teaching assignment was at the Annaton School, near the family
homestead.
On June 6, 1946 she married Peter George
Ruetten of Richland Center, WI. They were married 44 years until
Peter s death February 15, 1991.
Ivanelle was fortunate to find continued
happiness and married Donald Edward Funk of Lancaster, WI on August 22,
1992. They resided in Lancaster.
Ivanelle spent many years as a homemaker and
loving mother. In 1962 she began working for the Lancaster
Memorial Hospital, where she retired as the Laundry Supervisor in 1987.
She continued her service to the hospital as Director of Volunteer
Services for several years. Throughout her life, she enjoyed most
helping others.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Funk;
one son, Dennis (Karrie) Ruetten; three children welcomed by her
marriage to Donald--David (Anne) Funk, Carol (Dennis) Peterson, Judith

Winifred; and 10 brothers and sisters, Veryl Stich, Fredrick Stich,
Lowell Stich, Vernon Stich, Eldon Stich, Kenneth Stich, Glenn Stich,
Lela (Stich) Becker, Velma (Stich) Lund, and Eleanor (Stich) Frank.

Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. on
Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Schwartz Funeral Home, 142 W. Oak St.,
Lancaster, with Rev. Mark Dieter officiating. Friends called from 9:30
a.m. until the time of services. Burial was in the Rock Church
Cemetery in Livingston, WI.
Mandel A. Funk
Mandel A. Funk, age 86,
of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014, at Orchard
Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. He was born on October 16, 1927,
the son of William and Phyllis (Hinson) Funk. On February 25, 1950,
Mandel was united in marriage to Mildred M. Schuster at the First
English Lutheran Church in Platteville. In 1954, Mandel entered into
a partnership with Art Busher owning the Economy Body Shop in
Lancaster. Mandel and Mildred started farming in 1957, after
buying their first farm in Liberty Township. He later bought Art out
and continued to run the body shop and farm for over 60 years. His
son, Jeff, will continue on with the farms. Mandel was a member of
the Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his three children:
Jeff (Sue) Funk; Cheryl (Tom Powers) Younger; Kim (Mike) Baliff; six
grandchildren: Carrie (Casey) Kerstiens; Casey (Kenneth) Byl;
Jessica (Eric) Pepperworth; Amanda (David) Edgar; Joseph (fianc
Alicia Johll) Baliff; Nathan (Kelsey Spensley) Baliff;
great-grandchildren: Oakley Kerstiens; Kenlinn and Kasen Byl; Blaise
Edgar; a brother, Robert Funk; his sisters: Betty (Monroe) Snyder;
Sharon (Jack) Gruender; Karen (Larry) Kane; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mandel was
preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; a son-in-law, Jim Younger; a
sister, Mary (Matt) Frye; a brother, Stanley (Rae Ann) Funk; a
sister-in-law, Rose Funk.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Lancaster with Pastor David Froemming officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church in Lancaster and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. A lunch will be served at the church following the services. Martin Funeral Home in Lancaster is assisting the family.

J. Fure
Clarence J. Fure, age 80, of Cassville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at UPH Finley Hospital in Dubuque, IA. He was born on January 6, 1934, in Platteville, the son of William and Mary (Linden) Fure. Clarence grew up on the family farm near Platteville. He served in the United States Army and was united in marriage on July 31, 1954, to Ida Mae Reuter. Clarence retired from John Deere after thirty plus years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards with the guys and spending time with his family. Clarence was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and loved his Milwaukee

the American Legion Post No. 352 of Cassville.

21, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with
Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial with military
honors was held in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville.
Family and friends called on Sunday, July 20, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. until
7:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cassville where a
2:45 p.m. scripture service will be held. Friends also called on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Ida Mae Fure
Ida Mae Ruth Fure, age 81, of
Cassville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Grant
Regional Health Center, Lancaster, with one of her sons by her side.
She was born on April 29, 1936, in Potosi, the daughter of Lester and
Mildred (Pitzen) Reuter. Ida Mae graduated from Potosi
High School in 1954. On July 31, 1954, Ida Mae was united
in marriage to Clarence J. Fure and they started their family.
Together they raised nine children and always enjoyed many family
gatherings and visits from her grandchildren. Ida Mae
worked for many years at Rapid Die & Molding Company in Cassville.
She enjoyed all her co-workers and loved giving them her sarcastic
attitude quite often. She enjoyed fishing with her
husband, Clarence. Ida Mae also loved the many trips to
the casino with her husband and children. She dearly
loved all the hugs and time spent with her family. Ida
Mae was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. She always had a
little twinkle in her eye for Brett Farve and Aaron Rogers.
